Interior Design Schools Are the Same - But DifferentIn one way, almost all top interior design schools are the same. Students learn basic design principles and the use of various textiles and other materials. How are They Different? You need to understand the personalities and temperaments of the people who will use the area you are designing. You'll also learn that good designs fit in with their surroundings. Regional and cultural differences do count. A design that is perfect in New York might be a dud in Florida. That's why, although they all teach the basic principles, a Canadian interior design school is different from California interior design schools or Florida interior design schools. Does that mean you can never move? Not at all, once you have your interior decorating degree, you'll understand what the differences are and you'll know how to adapt to different environments.
